Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Regulations 2022

Last week, the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide amendment was approved in the house of commons. Updated regulations now mean it is mandatory for all Landlords to: Ensure a carbon monoxide alarm is provided in each room used as living accommodation which contains a fixed combustion appliance (excluding gas cookers).   All landlords will be legally obligated to ensure smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms are repaired or replaced once they are informed and the alarms are found to be faulty.   The updated regulations will come into force from the 1st October 2022.
